Charlie Angus is the Resistance

NDP MP Charlie Angus Talks to Us About the Need to Unify Against Fascism

NDP MP Charlie Angus sat down with me to talk about his 20-year career in political office, his advocacy on Indigenous issues, and why we need to unify to resist fascism.

Charlie has been the federal Member of Parliament for the riding of Timmins-James Bay since 2004. He is a member of the New Democrat Party and currently serves as Vice-Chair of the Standing Committee on Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics and is the NDP Critic for Indigenous and Northern Affairs (Youth).

He is a founding member of the band Grievous Angels and has published numerous books, including:

Dangerous Memory: Coming of Age in a Decade of Greed (Toronto: House of Anansi Press 2024).

Cobalt: Cradle of the Demon Metals, Birth of a Mining Superpower (Toronto: House of Anansi Press, 2022).

Children of the Broken Treaty: Canada’s Lost Promise and One Girls Dream (Regina: University of Regina Press, 2017).
